Today we bring you the marriage of Carol and Barry who met through work some 25 years ago! They opted for an intimate and cosy Samlesbury Hall wedding with their nearest and dearest. It was actually a double celebration as Barry turned 60 (we’re sure he won’t mind us sharing…) on their extra-special day. All the more reason to celebrate in style we say!Samlesbury Hall wedding

The Dress

Carol’s wedding dress was also her ‘something blue’ and we love how it suited both the bride and the medieval vibe of Samlesbury Hall. That deep blue stood in beautiful contrast to those roaring open fires.
The dress was purchased from John Lewis. Carol says that when it arrived she  “just loved it” and stopped the dress search.

The Suit

Barry wore a grey 3-piece suit and accessorised with a blue tie and pocket square to match his wife’s deep blue dress. He sourced his suit from Slaters in Preston. The couple tell us that “the staff were amazing.” That’s what we like to hear! grey wedding suit slaters

A Samlesbury Hall Wedding

Aside from its history and grandeur, Carol has local connections to Samlesbury Hall. It’s somewhere she has been visiting for over 50 years and one of their special guests is a direct descendent of the Southworths.

The Flowers

Lilybets Flowers in Hoghton took care of all things floral. Again the couple wanted to keep things simple and opted for creams, purples and greenery.

The Cake!

E&V Bakes created this semi-naked wedding cake with cascading peach and white meringues and macarons.macaron wedding cake

Making Memories

Union St Ceilidh Band entertained guests throughout the evening and Kirsten Platt captured the magic of the day with these wonderful photographs. The couple tell us that the most memorable and emotional part of the day had to be saying their vows. We get that…. Would someone pass the tissues please?samlesbury hall wedding

A big thanks goes to Carol and Barry for sharing their Samlesbury Hall wedding with us. We wish them many years of happy memory-making together.
