There are couples who have elaborate stories of how they met. And then there are couples like Dominique and Jordan, whose story is much shorter: they met in the local pub! However, any lack of romantic tale about their meeting has been more than compensated by their gorgeous Saddleworth Hotel wedding. So, read on for some serious style and wedding inspo! (Oh, and this wedding involved a talented bunch of How to I Do‘s amazing wedding suppliers too!).

The Proposal!

The proposal was a planned out affair. A Valentine’s weekend away at Cheshire’s well known Rookery Hall gave the perfect opportunity for Dominique to have an extra spa treatment, so Jordan could fill their room with roses, champagne and a hands-down beautiful ring. A perfectly private proposal, and this girl said YES. When it came down to planning the wedding itself, Dominique and Jordan were clear that they wanted everyone to have fun and dance their socks off!

The Wedding Dress!

Dominique did her dress hunt online. (How easy would that have been had How to I Do been on her radar at that time?)! First, she found a designer that she liked called Riki Dalal. This led her to her local stockist, our very own featured boutique, The White Gallery in Ramsbottom. In Dominique’s words, “The shop and staff were just perfect!!” Whilst there, she tried on about 8 dresses, and narrowed it down to 2. After 4 weeks of indecision she made her choice – thankfully there were no regrets! What an absolute stunner. We love the contrast between that fitted bodice and flowing skirt. And, (spoiler alert!) check out the incredibly detailed and elegant back!

Dominique teamed her wedding gown with Sophia Webster shoes. She then borrowed her sister’s tennis bracelet for her something old and borrowed. Two lovely clients bought her a blue Swarovski bracelet, and Dominique added new diamond earrings. We love a bit of tradition!

The Groom, Groomsmen & Other Special People!

Another of our featured suppliers, Whitfield and Ward in Wilmslow, created the bespoke wedding-wear for these dashing gents. They look mighty fine to us!

And as for socks, we’re big fans of the novelty kind!
Best friends made up Jordan’s two best men. Dominique’s sister was her Maid of Honour. The various important and little people were nephews and nieces, some of whom were rather tired and teary before the wedding! However, like all kids can, they turned on a sixpence, and were completely delightful as they walked down the aisle. Phew!

Their Saddleworth Hotel Wedding!

Dominique and Jordan got married at the sought-after Saddleworth Hotel. The couple describe it as: “stylish, modern and with stunning views.” We agree!

The Wedding Food!

They had a traditional 3 course meal that was catered by the venue. We think it’s safe to say that nobody went home hungry!

Zara Cakes came up trumps with this patisserie masterpiece.

Wedding Flowers!

Dominique and Jordan credit another of our wonderful suppliers, Kelly Louise Floral Artistry with making their wedding like a fairytale! They say: “[Kelly’s] attention to detail is outstanding, and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer person.” Kelly followed the couple’s classic and clean looking theme of navy, white and silver to perfection. She chose truly white roses and hydrangeas, and added her own brand of magic.

Wedding Makeup and Hair!

Dominique does not wear much makeup usually. She therefore wanted a natural look that would endure the day. For this, she went to Tracey Lee (aka cakefacetrace) who we’re told, was the winning combo of being both very lovely and also very talented. Tracey created a natural nude look with a pink lip.

As for hair, Dominique is not a fan of ‘typical bridal hair’. She therefore went for a simple and chic look: a low bun with volume at the front with a dainty clip – perfect!

The Wedding Photography

ANOTHER(!!!) of our wonderful suppliers, Jayne Barri took these gorgeous pictures.  The couple describe her as a “sweet, caring, lovely person”, who “took amazing pictures not just of us but of everyone!” From what we can tell, Jayne more than captured the mood of this fun, stylish and romantic day. We’re particularly fond of those golden hour shots.

The Wedding Entertainment

Girl on Sax provided brilliant music that got the crowd going. The couple’s one regret is that they did not book her for longer! What a compliment!

Their first dance was to Perfect by Ed Sheeran. The song seemed to have followed them around wherever they went during their wedding planning, so it felt timely and meant to be.

Wedding Stationery!

Last but not least, I Do designs created wedding invitations, and Paper Fudge made fun and memorable signs to direct the guests around the wedding celebrations.

Advice for future couples?

This couple say that they remember every part of their big day like it was yesterday. They wouldn’t change it for the world! As for advice, they suggest sticking to your guns and doing what YOU want. It’s your day, after all!!
