This time we are honoured to bring you the intimate wedding of Gemma and Dave, set in an unspoilt spot in the Lake District at one of How to I Do‘s featured venues – Hidden River Cabins. So get Pinterest ready and check out their beautifully boho big day.
How it all began….
It was court that brought these two lovebirds together. Not the Crown Court, but the badminton court! After a few rallies and some net spins, these singles became a double, and a romantic proposal in North Vancouver led to this rustic Hidden River Cabins wedding.
After a long search, Gemma found her dream boho gown from Marrime Bridalwear in Kendal, Cumbria.
She found her bridesmaid dresses at ASOS. We love with the whimsical style and rustic blue colour palette.
Dave sourced his suit from Mr Mister in Barrow and his groomsmen’s suits from Slaters in Preston.

The Venue: Hidden River Cabins
The couple chose this venue because it is, in their words, “beautiful, different, natural and private.” Surrounded by spectacular scenery, we definitely understand the attraction.
Flowers and Decor
Lisa Ellwood took care of all things floral. Her brief was ‘autumnal and bohemian.’ Lisa aced it. What a gorgeous flower arch!
Hidden River Cabins took care of the catering. They did a great job of making food that was tasty, modern and stylish.
The couple then opted for a savoury tower of cheese for their wedding cake.
Gemma’s sister-in-law played and sang for the couple’s first dance, Only Love by Ben Howard.
One of our fabulous and featured photographers Eftal at Ladybirds Photography took these epic shots which have gone down a storm and no doubt be treasured forever.
Bits Bits and Words of Advice?
The couple describe the whole day as magical. They have some very simple advice: “DO WHAT YOU WANT!!!”.
