This time we return to Lancashire and more specifically Eaves Hall, Clitheroe. Yes, yes we are keen on this part of the world and for those who did not hear all about it, we made our radio debut there a few weeks ago..! So, Love in Lancashire and an Eaves Hall wedding with Abbie and Craig. Let us tell you more!ryan rafferty weddings

The Proposal

Craig proposed at the award-winning Nutters Restaurant in Rochdale. Craig clearly had this carefully planned out: “will you marry me” was written around Abbie’s dessert plate and her gorgeous engagement ring was hidden inside a honeycomb basket. (So luckily she didn’t just dive straight in with her spoon then!). With a resounding “Yes!”, this went from honeycomb to (eventually) a honeymoon – with a wonderful WEDDING in between!

The Wedding vision!

Abbie was a girl on a mission. She wanted a manor, with everything colourful in all different pastel shades. She wanted lots of entertainment and for her guests to never feel bored. From what we can tell she more than met her brief!

An Eaves Hall Wedding

The entire wedding took place at Eaves Hall.

Manor? Tick.

Eaves Hall is a beautiful venue with features that the couple fell in love with, such as the massive chandeliers and its huge driveway. It is also perfectly positioned amongst breathtaking gardens in the picturesque Ribble Valley countryside. As you can imagine, it makes for fabulous photos.

The Food and Wedding Cake!

Catering was also provided by Eaves Hall, who excelled and provided a full 3 course meal.

Keeping it local, Rossendale’s multi award-winning Little Cherry Cake Company created a cake to remember.

Wedding Colours

With the assistance of Rolands Florist in Rawtenstall, and Creative Cover Hire who were responsible for the decor, everything was curated to be colourful in different pastel shades. Tick again!

Check out the pastels on these bridesmaids dresses! (But understandably this cute chappie with his pastel pink bow tie got centre stage on this one!).

The Wedding Dress!

Abbie had thought she wanted a big Cinderella-type dress. However, after a few sessions trying on marvellous meringues and clouds of white, she felt they lacked that little bit of magic that we all hope to feel in our wedding dress. On her 8th bridal shop, Emma Hartley’s in Colne, Abbie found THE ONE. Accompanied by her best friend, sister, step-mum and grandma, this was fate calling. And this time fate called Abbie to a strapless, fitted, ivory lace number with a fish tail. The magic was there this time, and it made Abbie cry. Aww!

Wedding Make-Up

For this there was ‘Noone’ other than HTID‘s very own Frankie Noone (please excuse our attempt at humerous wordplay!). Abbie went for sparkly eyes and a bright pink lip for even more colour! We just LOVE a bit of glitz and glamour.

Wedding Hair!

Stylist Megan Rayden did an amazing job of Abbie’s hair. It was elegantly curled and then styled to one side. Crucially, it never fell out of place.

The Mens’ Wedding Outfits

Abbie sourced a little bit from here and a little bit from there. She even grabbed a few high street bargains. The couple added some cool and slightly quirky details, such as braces and bow ties that came from America, as well as batman cufflinks for Craig! With only Craig wearing a jacket he stood out from his crowd of 5 groomsmen.

His Hair

Always keen to avoid wedding gender bias, we can even tell you who helped to make Craig look so good! (OK, his genetics, Abbie’s no-doubt great influence and maybe even Craig himself!). But this time hair stylist Carly from Rawtenstall’s salon Anthony and Patricia must be credited for the dapper hair do.

Wedding Entertainment!

Remember how Abbie and Craig wanted to avoid wedding bordedom for their guests? Well it was literally impossible to be bored at this wedding! Abbie and Craig hired: a DJ from Eaves Hall; a band called Boomin; fairground rides which comprised teacups and a rodeo bull; and, a London taxi photo booth…

…and, sweet stalls, a bouncy castle, a magician, singing waiters, AND a light up dance floor from Dance Floor Couture. WOW.

The AMAZING Wedding Photographer and Videographer

For those who do not know him, meet Ryan Rafferty – a wonderful How to I Do wedding photographer! In Abbie and Craig’s words: “Such a nice man. I felt like he was actually one of our friends. He made us that comfortable and all our guests loved him.” The pictures speak for themselves. Go Ryan!

They also used Moviart to to create a timeless video that perfectly summarises their special day and keeps their memories safe.

Wedding Stationery

Stationery was created by local Clitheroe creatives, Brides Little Helper, who we are proud to already feature as one of our suppliers.

Wedding Favours

Let’s face it, when it comes to favours we all want to do something that feels unique and does not break the bank. We love Abbie and Craig’s ideas – scratch cards for the grown-ups and sweet jars for the kids with personalised colour books and crayons. After all, if you are inviting kids, give them something to do during the (hopefully) quieter moments!

Memorable Bits and Advice

Abbie and Craig particularly treasure the memory of saying their vows.

Their advice to future wedding planning couples?

“Enjoy every moment, try not to worry how the day will go because everyone else makes it perfect, and have fun!” Looks like there was a lot of fun had at their Eaves Hall wedding!

That simply leaves us to say thank you to Abbie and Craig for sharing their special day. We wish them good health and happiness!
