ZOE & JUNIOR: FROM CRUSH TO A COMBERMERE ABBEY WEDDING!

This is a story that grew from a childhood crush (she fancied him when she was 7!!) into their happy relationship that began 5 years ago. We are here to tell you all about their stylish and tasteful day which saw the wedding bells ring in Cheshire!

The Proposal!

There was a time when Zoe was expecting a romantic proposal. However, after a stressful day at work, Zoe was greeted by their dog who, although unable to pop the question, could certainly play ring bearer! This proposal was a complete shock to Zoe, who tells us that she had no makeup on – she’s a makeup artist after all. But isn’t that what it’s all about? Being real people together, and having someone to love us exactly as we are…

The Wedding Vision

Zoe tells us that she wanted a very clean and contemporary look: “White, everything white! With hints of forest green! I wanted a big wedding with all of our friends and just everything to be magical!”

The Wedding Dress

Zoe always thought that she wanted lace dress with a fishtail. She found her dream dress at our longstanding featured supplier, Along Came Eve in Chester, where she chose a gorgeous Enzoani wedding gown. Following in the footsteps of the rich and famous, Zoe also had a show-stopping evening dress. This was bespoke, and was created by her sister who has recently launched her own brand Alterlei Clothing on Instagram. This is one kind and talented sister who also altered all 6 bridesmaids dresses!

Did we mention that Zoe finished off her look with stunning footwear: a pair of forest green crocodile Louboutins! Oo, la la!

The Wedding Suit?

We have to say it. Junior looked DAPPER! What a fabulous and unusual suit, which was tailor made by Crichton Bespoke tailors in Chester. As well as looking fantastic (have we said that?!) the couple tell us that there were lots of lovely little touches like his initials on the shirt cuffs.

The Groomsmens’ Outfits

The groomsmen are all close friends of Junior. Their outfits were from M&S and reflect Junior’s suit. Who says guys can’t do Hollywood glam?!

The Bridesmaids’ Dresses

Zoe selected her sisters and closest friends for her helpful, dedicated and gorgeous bridal party. Zoe actually bought their dresses first: ” I had always planned on having white bridesmaids dresses, and actually found the most beautiful dresses on Lipsy in the bridal section. They looked stunning!!! And they were so much cheaper than your average bridesmaid dresses!” Great work Zoe!

The Wedding Venues

The couple got married at the beautiful St Mary’s Church in the centre of Nantwich.

If that wasn’t grand enough, they followed it with a reception at the simply stunning Combermere Abbey. Unbeknownst to Zoe this is her Grandpa’s favourite place, and he cried when she told him! Aww. On top of that, makeup artist Zoe had not done a wedding there either. All in all this was the perfect venue. The gardens alone are breathtaking.

Wedding Catering

Cheshire based Olive Tree Catering created a delicious wedding breakfast for everyone to enjoy. The couple were fortunate to have their wedding cake made with love, by a friend’s grandmother!

Wedding Decor and Wedding Flowers

Zoe and Junior got stuck in with much of their decor although really they wanted the flowers to do the talking! We can see why. A big thanks to their florist, Liz Wilson whose standout works were the gorgeous table centrepieces in white with some green foliage, and Zoe’s cascading bouquet with white orchids running through it! We’re in love!

Supplementary decor consisted of small white lanterns, a big white decorative mirror with the table plan on, bigger lanterns dotted around, and having a sweet table – yum!

Wedding Hair and Makeup

As a gifted makeup artist (Zoe is too modest to say this herself, but we certainly can!), she surprised others by enlisting the help of fellow makeup artist, and How to I Do featured supplier, Jessica Mair. After all Zoe did not want to feel like she was off to work! This was her wedding day after all, and Jess created a soft glowing look with gold accents perfectly.

As for hair, Zoe turned to Sam Bache who owns Blonde Hair Salon near Nantwich, for her gorgeously soft and ‘messy’ up do.

Wedding Memories Made: Photographs and Videography

Award-winning Lesley Meredith is behind these incredible shots. This exceptionally talented photographer has captured every ounce of wedding magic for the happy couple to treasure forever.

Videographers Lavalette Productions also made them a wedding film to help them reminisce any time they wish.

Wedding Entertainment

The couple hired a magician and DJ Rob Jones who clearly kept the party going and everyone dancing!

The Best Bits and Bits of Wedding Planning Advice

All in all, Zoe says: “Just having everyone with us, marrying my best friend, seeing my beautiful Mum, Dad and bridesmaids… These parts will always stick in my mind! It was just such a wonderful beautiful day!”

To us this wedding looks the picture of perfection and we are glad that it felt that way too.

As for advice, they say: “Do not stress. Everything will turn out fine on the day, when all the little details don’t matter. Just enjoy every minute of the planning and the day!”
