With C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S around the corner, we thought it only fitting that we bring you our top tips on having an incredible Christmas wedding with all the trimmings! So, grab a mince pie (or two!) and let How to I Do bring Christmas to you!
Many venues will be suitably decorated ready for the festive season. This is a great way to save on cost and have one less thing to worry about. We love venues that go crazy for festooned fairy lights, the scent of woodland pine and lots of gold, silver and sparkles!
If you wish to add extra Christmas cheer, there are many simple festive touches. Add some foliage to guests chairs, for example – looks amazing!
A Christmas wedding is an excellent opportunity to stylishly keep warm, and an excuse to avoid photo-chills! Embrace the faux fur bolero, tweed suit jackets and accessorise with festive colours. Simply splendid!
Makeup and Glitter Up!
A Christmas wedding is also a great excuse to make a statement with makeup. We love a bold red lip, vibrant red nails and why not add some gorgeous glitter…ooh, just about anywhere (it is Christmas after all!).
The red rose has to be a festive floral favourite. It is also very versatile: it makes for a popular bouquet bloom, a great buttonhole and a statement flower crown too.
For other plant-based seasonal inspo, think holly, berries, fern and the humble pine cone, which can add the perfect finishing touch for a place setting. (We might add that these are graciously inexpensive too!).
Have your Christmas Cake and Eat It!
Why not add a touch of Christmas to that all important wedding cake? We are thinking very-edible festive decoration with winter greenery for the finishing touch.
There are many low cost options for a festive favour. Who doesn’t love a Ferrero Rocher? Who could complain if given Christmas cookies, shortbread and a good ol’ Christmas cracker? (Answer: no one we know).
Have a Tipple!
A Christmas wedding is the perfect opportunity to provide guests with a festive tipple. From mulled wine, to Christmas cocktails, you can always drink in some cheer. Cheers!
For the kids and non-alcohol drinkers, there is still the chance to indulge them with a fancy hot chocolate station. Anything goes – the brave might add marshmallows, squirty cream and edible glitter. We can practically guarantee that guests will love it!
Wish for SNOW!
Keep fingers crossed for a dusting of snow to add some extra sparkle and winter magic! (We cannot guarantee that one, sorry!).
Embrace the Season!
We hope we’ve managed to bring you a few ideas and tips for a Christmas wedding. So, happy planning, happy Christmas and go find that mistletoe!
