Autumn can be a beautiful time of year to say ‘I do!’ Hence why we have always tried to inspire our wedding planners about the awesomeness of autumn!  There is something about the reds, yellows and oranges that hint happiness, romance and rustic charm.  We are therefore keen to reflect on just how striking an autumnal wedding can be – and share it with you all! With the help of a talented bunch of suppliers and a strikingly stately wedding venue, let How to I Do  inspire those of you planning your big day to vote Autumn!

The Wedding Venue!

Croxteth Hall is an impressive Edwardian stately home located in a breathtaking country estate approximately 20 minutes from Liverpool city centre. It is home to an abundance of rooms for couples to choose from for the various aspects of their day. Needless to say that each room oozes elegance, distinction and a lot of WOW.croxteth hall wedding

As well as its imposing interiors, Croxteth Hall boasts woodland, pastures and ponds. In addition, there is also a glasshouse and a Victorian walled garden full of old fruit trees. Plenty of photo opportunities here then, whatever the season!croxteth hall wedding

Styling this magnificent wedding venue was definitely a team effort. Thornton Events brought the outside in with their stunning autumnal themed faux trees.

In our humble opinions, the chiffon chair covers completed the ceremony room perfectly. We love their understated elegance, each being tied with just a single red rose. These simple and pretty chairs were sourced from Childwall Table and Chair Hire. The covers and red rose ties were courtesy of Covers and Bows.

Karena Floral added some extra special touches along the aisle. She reflected the estate’s woodland in her work, which showcased pine cones and moss, and added gorgeous copper lanterns for the finishing touches.

The Flowers!

Karena Floral also created structural masterpieces of foliage and flowers. She was inspired by her walks through the stunning grounds of Croxteth Hall. We are particular fans of the sprays of hexagonal berries, and the soft pinks amongst the dark green tones are simply delightful.

For those looking for something bold, scarlet seems wonderfully seasonal and stands out against the softer greens. Karina Floral used red Naomi roses, which is a fragrant rose with layers of velvet-like petals. Sounds divine to us, and makes the perfect feature in a bouquet and smart buttonhole.

The Cakes!

The gifted peeps at Create a Cake can be credited with the wonder-work of Autumnal texture combined with a tastetastic treat. Hence a bark-effect textured sponge with warm Autumn colour details – oh and a few woodland animals for a bit of fun!

For those looking for a cake that oozes elegance, then look ahead to the marble and metallic effect layers that are set to continue to be a hot trend in 2019! The flowers soften the stately appearance of the cake and make it pretty and striking all at once.

The Bridal Lookbook… The Dresses! The Hair! The Make Up!

Hair by Hebe did a wonderful job of tousled locks for these models. In our view it was a perfect style for those scooped backed dresses, which came from the very lovely and oh so popular Liverpool Bridal Boutique. The lace and sweep of that skirt is surely a winner!

For a gown that is rather dreamy, then we adore the airy skirt contrasted with its structured and detailed bodice.

As for makeup, sit up and take notice of the tremendously talented Laura-Louise Makeup Artist. We love those dramatic eyes and the red lip that confidently mirrors those red roses perfectly. For an Autumnal glow, duskier, softer shades work really well too.
And a tastefully accentuated eye can suit any lip, allowing one to take day into night with a sweep of colour. Start pretty in pink and end the night on a scarlet high!

Photography and Videography!

Rachel Clarke Wedding Photography can rightly brag about these stunning images. As can Aperture Media who also created a fabulous video. Between the two of them they recorded the day for time immemorial, happy couples to relive for days and anniversaries to come….

Oh yes, this is a styled shoot, not a real wedding. Getting carried away there…! But (in our attempted defence) you can understand why we might have been mistaken…!! Looks like a good day was had by all!

Thanks and Credits

As well as the dedicated wedding suppliers already mentioned, models Kimberley Graham, Josh Williams and Ashleigh and Michael Blinston helped to make the styled shoot extra gorgeous.

Therefore it is an awesomely-autumnal THANK YOU to everyone involved for letting How to I Do share the magic of the season!
